Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Club
The Beach Haven Marlin & Tuna Club is located on the waterfront in beautiful Beach Haven, NJ. We are a fishing club with a rich history and a variety of members-only tournaments awarding over $31,000 in prizes annually. Our beautiful new clubhouse is a great place for social events, parties and a breathtaking sunset view throughout the year.
We are the proud home of The White Marlin Invitational - "The Grand-daddy of all White Marlin Tournaments." We also host the LBI Cup Striped Bass Tournament, as well as the Family Flukamania Tournament. Every year we have a Fish 'n Fun Excursion where we treat our Junior Anglers to a trip on the Carolynn Ann III to fish together.
We are currently enrolling new members, so if you are interested in finding out how to join, please check out our Membership page for more information!
A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMODORE
It seems hard to believe we are saying good bye to August already. Fishing has been up and down this season with some club members finding some nice fish this year. Yellowfin Tuna being taken in 120 ft. of water, something new to me. I am sure the senior members of the club could tell us stories of tuna running in as close several times over the years. I’ve only ever found them at the Chicken Canyon in the past. Congrats to the members that got on them while they were close in. Reports of Redfish being caught in the bay are True, I actually saw one live. Maybe they will make a comeback? Let’s hope so.
I would like to take the time to thank Matt Garabedian and his crew for hosting an outstanding 2nd Annual Fluke A’ Mania this past July. The Club was busy and full of people. It reminded me of times past. We had 65 Boats Again fish this event and had prizes and giveaways for participants and spectators alike. Great atmosphere and food. This is becoming a must attend event for families to fish. Prizes for Men, Women, Intermediate and Junior Anglers. Great Fun. The commodore of one of the other NJ Fishing clubs told me this was the best run and attended Fluke tournament he had ever seen. Talk about a compliment. We should all be very proud of that.
Thank you to Brendan Graham for getting the BHMTC involved in the War at the Shore Tournament. This Tournament will benefit a charity of the winners choosing. This year Brendan set the charity to Children’s Leukemia in honor of our member Parker Nork. A handsome amount is going to the charity because of the amount of boats involved. It was a great primer for the WMIT and we had the opportunity as a fishing club to compete against other fishing clubs in NJ for the Governor’s Trophy that is now hanging in our club. We had a good turnout with 15 Club Members boats competing against the Manasquan Marlin and Tuna Club, the Forked River Tuna Club, the Ocean City Marlin and Tuna Club, and the Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club. A total of 65 boats competed and the Manasquan Club won the day. Their Burgee hangs over the trophy and will stay there until we or another club wins next year. Please show your support and fish this next year.
Please thank Dave Ridley, Bill Linney and their committee for putting on one of the best White Marlin Invitational Tournaments in recent history. If you were not in attendance, the tournament was well planned, well-staffed and well executed. The Food and entertainment were great. The prizes and giveaways were great. The fishing was tough, however the new 4 day format made it a lot easier for the participants to get out to the fishing grounds safely. With the weather forecast looking iffy and the south inlet officially closed, Dave and his guys still got over 30 boats to compete. Winning boats took away some large cash prizes. The vibe at the club was excellent. This gives us a great building block to grow this tournament back. Great Job.
Please don’t forget the Labor Day party is now Sunday September 3rd. If you haven’t registered please try and do it today. Also we still need volunteers. If you just joined, this is a great time to volunteer and get your obligation fulfilled. Hope to see everyone at the clubhouse on Sunday.
